Over 300 exhibitors were featured at the annual Cine Gear Expo, the premier annual event for professionals engaged in the technology, entertainment and media industry. The show lasted four days and was hosted at the iconic Studios at Paramount in Hollywood, CA. Our client Panavision, one of the biggest names in designing and manufacturing high-precision camera systems, sought the help of Fuller Street to create a dynamic and unforgettable presence at the show. With a desire to highlight the newest products and seize the opportunity to build relationships, we worked hard to see our client's vision come to life, and they weren’t disappointed.
With one of the largest display spaces available at the expo, we wanted to take advantage and use every inch. We built a 20'D x 30'W truss grid using our 12" truss system. To accomplish the height of the grid, we used a combination of 10' with 8' truss and 1' box cube bringing the total height to 19 feet.
For the entrance overhead banner, we used 4' x 10' flats that were put together by custom coffin locks cut out by our CNC machine. We added a black gloss laminate to the top of the MDO sheet for the sleek matte finish. Lastly, for the lettering, we used 1/2 Sintra material, all cut by our on-site CNC machine.
To showcase the use of Panavision’s equipment in the latest and upcoming blockbusters, we put movie posters at the centerpiece of the exhibit. The hanging movie banners were constructed using four 4' x 12' expo walls and the center walls were connected together to span 24 feet across and hung to our truss system.
Expo walls fitted with printed vinyl were used to construct the interior of the booth. They were custom fit with tv mountings and were able to hold everything from 50" LED screens to production monitors weighing over 100 lbs.
To accentuate the latest camera equipment, multipurpose logoed plinths were fabricated using particleboard and overlaid with a black laminate and white sintra letters. For the mask artist stage, we built an 8' x 6' deck system and hung three high definition screens overhead. In terms of the lighting, we supplied ETC source 4 LEDs with various lens tubes that were each set and focused to a specified display, cabinet and focused lighting on the mask artist.
As this industry advances, trade shows like Cine Gear will continue to captivate by putting a higher demand to reach audiences. With this growth comes new and complex challenges, and yet at Fuller Street we only see opportunities for innovative solutions. We were honored to partner with the team at Panavision, Light Iron, and Lee Filters and look forward to working on their next event.
